niche adsense website

Hi there, I’m looking at building a niche website and monetise it using adsense and some affiliate products. Based on your experience, which one would be a better platform? In terms of content management and search engine ranking.
I’m looking at using both adsense and affiliate products on a content site. I’d like to get your opinion which is better for this setup, Wordpress or Joomla?

I have a website, a social networking site niche, its not very competitive, not even in adsense sandbox, now when it isnt competitive, should i do google adsense to boost the traffic? if yes then what should be the ideal ppc, 1, 0.1, 0.001, 0.0001?

Is there any need for SEO or other type of linking also, can i depend on adsense alone for atleast it reaches alexa 5,000-10,000 [m saying this coz i dont have competition in adsense in my niche]

We have a very specific niche but it can be used by a broad group. We have a large database (political, media, etc.) and our last few client have been from college students, to international companies. But the problem is the “few” part. We’d like this to be a full time job, we’ve started using Adsense, but we’re missing the traffic!

Not trying to spam or solicite, just looking for advice -www.data-aide.com, are there any suggestions??? Should we do something different?
